When to use it
跟进 (gēnjìn) is pure office Chinese; literally 'follow forward,' meaning to keep pushing a task to completion. Almost every knowledge worker on DingTalk or WeCom types this daily. 我来跟进 signals ownership: 'I'll take it.' For a boss CCing a client, the fuller 我会持续跟进 sounds more professional. Note 来 (lái) here isn't 'come'; it's a soft way of volunteering, like 'let me handle it.' In Taiwan offices you'll also hear 追蹤 (zhuīzōng) with the same meaning.
