Do NOT confuse with 晚上好 (wǎnshang hǎo, "good evening") which opens the evening; typically 6pm onward. 晚安 closes it. Pair with 做个好梦 (have a good dream) for warmth. Between romantic partners, 晚安 + name is a standard affectionate sign-off.
